Tonight is an emotional one. This being because tonight will be my last time that another night is spent taking in and telling of the performances at this here café. Strange to think I’ve been doing this for a year and nine months, but finally it appears that I must move on to a new path of work, and stand aside for someone new to separate the rubbish from the amazing.

And tonight proves a task of a last gig, mainly because the three bands share no particular genre.

So straight to the point we shall go.

First up are unknown act LINCHPIN. The guys provide us with half an hour of churning light metal and rock, which impresses a few. With the occasional timing error and hint of flat vocals, the boys showcase of powerful rhythmically led metal is let down. The guys are very together and  an energetic group, although slightly irritating with a dry dose of humour in between songs, and some bloke carting a stuffed dog around the stage. The boys may not be the best band since the Beatles, but they certainly do something right here tonight. The boys are definitely worth a look-up, maybe we should give them a little more practice time first though.

Now here's the tricky bit. This band has been needing to play here for a while, and finally, I manage to get them on my last night (pushing it a little methinks). So just why are MEET ME IN ST LOUIS the best Surrey band ever? Descending from bands Strobe 45 and Push To Fire, Meet Me In SLouis are here to do one thing. To break the genre borderline and to show you something that you’ve probably never heard before.

Tonight the band are ablaze, jumping to the stage with raw energy and some of the most mind bogglingly complex and clever music you could ever want to hear. You won't see this anywhere near the charts yet, and that’s real criminal. M-M-I-ST.-L are possibly the best example of togetherness, talent and charisma in a band that you will find in the country, there is no joke in the statement “these guys can only go further”. Even encountering a predicament with a guitar mid set, the boys go on to play…. Well here's the ice broken “THE BEST SET I HAVE SEEN IN MY JUST UNDER TWO YEARS OF REVIEWING”.

Some bands need to be watching their backs, as these guys really do stand as the kings of the Surrey music scene, and they won't have any trouble conquering the rest.

After that blessing, we are left with young-ones SAVING AMY. Saving Amy are simple, playing the same old music bands have been dishing out as a norm recently to hit the scene. Unimaginative and samey…yes! Talent less and unemotional….. Definitely not. Although when you get down to it the guys are the same old, they show togetherness and a strong sound, its just a shame that its been done so many times before.

Over and out
